Bun Bun

2020

Bun Bun was a 3-month long academic project for the VFX module at Brunel University during which the task was to model a humanoid character, rig and animate it in Maya, and then use Premiere Pro and After Effects to edit the animated sequences and add special effects to them.

 

As the goal was to create a unified identity through the character, animation, effects, and editing, I decided to go for something I could have fun with, which would motivate me to experiment. As I enjoy cute and quirky character designs I decided to model a humanoid bunny character and animate it as if it was an anime character.

 

While the design itself was cute, I wanted to spice it up and add more dimension to its personality through sass in its actions; including winking, kicking, and such.

 

This was a hard project which has had many issues along the way when it came to rigging and animating, but through determination, I was able to finish it and receive an A.
