Fonts of Ealing

Fonts of Ealing was an experimental 4-week project created to improve my creative thinking and process. During it, I used psychogeography as a tool to find inspiration in the wild by letting myself aimlessly wander through the town of Ealing. Afterward, I used this inspiration to guide the trajectory of the final format. I was inspired by all the random shapes in nature and buildings and used the varying data collected to create 3 fonts showcasing the variation of inspiration available within one location. Each font was created by translating collected data in the form of photographs into sketches and then later on vectors and animations. The fonts were developed in Illustrator and the animations made in After Effects.
